Gene was a true God send to us when we got deep into accessing "OUR" equity in our home. Due to a terrible law Texas Section 50(a) (6) we were handcuffed and could not access a HELOC! Gene is working to revise this legislation, however it did not help us as of our immediate needs. Gene was able to get us a Refi to get around this law, but the law still unfairly kept us from accessing it in the most financially smart ways (The Govt thinking they're smarter than us). Again... Thank you Gene for all of your hard work and please use our story to fight the fight and get this law amended or removed!

Johnnie was so committed & went above and beyond& beyond to ensure I received to BEST possible loan/mortgage. He was also very honest & every fee and expense was disclosed with NO surprises. People talk about fairytales and miracles, and are oftentimes met with disbelievers and doubters. Well, hopefully, after reading the miracle and fairytale story of my experience with Nicholas Akel, I hope if you’re one of the detractors, your perspective changes. I was under contract and unfortunately experiencing poor service from my broker. Less than a week before my proposed closing, I wanted to do my due diligence and find out about down payment assistance programs. A coworker told me about Hometown Heroes program and listed on the Florida Housing website, for Palm Beach, was Nicholas Akel. I called him for information and was informed the program’s funding for 2024 was depleted. Discouraged, I was prepared to end the call and hope for the best from my current broker. Nicholas asked if he could learn more about my home buying experience and was shocked I was less than two weeks from closing and had not received a conditional offer after being almost two months under contract. He asked if I would be receptive to his help. I was disheartened with my current broker and internally, I was ready to seek a new lender and had spoken with Rocket Mortgage but wasn’t sold by the agent. I felt helpless and thought I was forced to keep my current lender. I’m glad I followed my instincts and proceeded with Nicholas. Within 48-hours I had a DU approval. Nicholas wonders didn’t stop there, within the next few days from the DU approval, I had a conditional offer. Instantly, my joy returned! Every integral component and individual related to my loan was informative, empathetic, and communicative. This is how home buying should feel! I began with Nicholas on December 9, and I closed Friday, January 3, even with minor delays from seller! Nicolas was a lifesaver and creator of dreams come true. Don’t tell me miracles don’t happen because I met an angel named Nicholas. He helped me obtain the greatest gift and achievement, homeownership. Mr. Perea always took the time to answer every single question I had. He held my hand throughout the whole process. He helped me gather all required documents on time, and he informed me, beforehand, about every fee that I was going to pay. Therefore, there were no unexpected charges at the end of the transaction. This is the second property that I purchased with his assistance, and he always puts forth his maximum effort, commitment, and focus to help his clients reach their goals. I recall texting him on Christmas Eve, to clarify the information in a suspicious letter I received regarding the property I had just purchased. He replied immediately and confirmed my suspicions. I'm writing to recommend Keila Shaneil Nelson as a loan officer for your needs. Ms. Nelson helped our family provide all the specific documentation the lender required for our home loan. Every time we submitted the required documentation, like our home insurance policy, they came back to us with a new requirement: that our policy was not up to date for the house's value. We need a new policy. Ms. Keila personally contacted our insurance agency to renew our insurance policy to cover the home's value. After that scenario, the Lender came back with another new mandate. This time, it was about our Living Trust date; Ms. Keila once again had to go back into the trenches to contact a new lawyer to rewrite our Living Trust to meet the specifications of the Lender.
