People talk about fairytales and miracles, and are oftentimes met with disbelievers and doubters. Well, hopefully, after reading the miracle and fairytale story of my experience with Nicholas Akel, I hope if you’re one of the detractors, your perspective changes. I was under contract and unfortunately experiencing poor service from my broker. Less than a week before my proposed closing, I wanted to do my due diligence and find out about down payment assistance programs. A coworker told me about Hometown Heroes program and listed on the Florida Housing website, for Palm Beach, was Nicholas Akel. I called him for information and was informed the program’s funding for 2024 was depleted. Discouraged, I was prepared to end the call and hope for the best from my current broker. Nicholas asked if he could learn more about my home buying experience and was shocked I was less than two weeks from closing and had not received a conditional offer after being almost two months under contract. He asked if I would be receptive to his help. I was disheartened with my current broker and internally, I was ready to seek a new lender and had spoken with Rocket Mortgage but wasn’t sold by the agent. I felt helpless and thought I was forced to keep my current lender. I’m glad I followed my instincts and proceeded with Nicholas. Within 48-hours I had a DU approval.
